
Italian actress Claudia Cardinale, who played alongside Alain Delon in the 1963 picture The Leopard, gave a moving tribute to the deceased star Sunday: “Tancredi has risen to dance with the stars”, referring to Delon’s role in the film, FRANCE 24’s Josephine McKenna said, reporting from Rome. While known as a French cinema icon, Delon, whose career spans six decades, filmed his early movies in Italy where he starred in Rocco and His Brothers (1960) among other classics, McKenna said.
