Carabao Cup: Klopp pays emotional tribute to Liverpool staff ahead of leaving Reds
The FA Cup quarter-final draw takes place tonight as the remaining eight teams discover their fate. Reigning champions Manchester City, last year’s beaten finalists Manchester United, Sunday’s Carabao Cup winners Liverpool and beaten finalists Chelsea are among the names in the draw.
Coventry City thrashed sixth-tier Maidstone United on Monday to be the first club to reach the quarter-finals. They were joined last night by: Manchester City, who beat Luton Town 6-2 courtesy of five Erling Haaland goals; Newcastle United, who edged out Blackburn Rovers on penalties; and Leicester City, the Championship leaders who beat Bournemouth in extra time.
The final four fifth-round ties will play out tonight after the quarter-final draw is made. Chelsea host old rivals Leeds United, Nottingham Forest face wavering Manchester United, Wolves take on Brighton and Liverpool host Southampton.

The striker’s treble and Fabio Tavares’ late double sent the Sky Blues into the last eight for the first time since 2009 after a 5-0 win.
It was a disappointing climax to the Stones’ historic Cup run, which had seen them win seven ties – including knocking out Barrow, Stevenage and Ipswich – to become the first team outside the top five divisions to reach the fifth round since Blyth Spartans in 1978.
