Zeeman’s second-hand offering is rolling out to eight new locations in Belgium and the Netherlands. The ‘Re-use’ is available from today in eighteen Zeeman branches, as announced in a press release.
Until now, the second-hand clothing range was available in ten Belgian and Dutch cities. Now Zeeman adds the cities of Antwerp, Roeselare and Sint-Niklaas in Belgium. In the Netherlands, the branches in Alkmaar, Middelharnis, Rotterdam, Bergen op Zoom and Kerkrade will be provided with the Re-use offer, the press release states.
The Dutch textile discounter introduced the sale of second-hand clothing in 2021 under the name ‘Re-use’. The platform was rolled out in collaboration with Het Goed, a social enterprise with various thrift stores and textile sorting centers in the Netherlands. ‘Re-use’ rolled out in Belgium in 2022 under a pilot project in Genk and Merksem.
Consumers can donate old clothing at all Zeeman branches. Het Goed then checks and sorts the clothing, after which all items that meet the quality requirements for resale are returned to Zeeman for sale. Garments that do not meet the criteria are recycled as much as possible.
