Ramadan Kareem, and every year, Iraq and its people are well
Ladies and gentlemen, attendees
We gather today to celebrate the forty-third anniversary of the founding of the Badr Organization, whose name is associated with an occasion dear to the hearts of Muslims and free people of the world, who reject injustice, for the sake of a free and dignified life. This organization and its leaders had the honor of participating in overthrowing a totalitarian regime that killed and abandoned its people, because they rejected injustice and tyranny from In order to achieve democracy in Iraq.
Today we remember the days of jihad and the moments of honor in which we, Arabs, Kurds, and the rest of the Iraqi people, stood united in order to reject injustice, rise up against tyranny, and achieve a decent life. We remind generations that the democratic experience that Iraq is experiencing today, we would not have reached it without the sacrifices made by men who stood up to injustice and rejected… tyranny and aspire to build an independent homeland in which the people live freely on their own land.
Our brothers in the Badr Organization had great positions in combating the dictatorial regime. We shared with them and with us the moments of jihad in the marsh, the plain, and the mountains, inside and outside the country, and we wrote our jihadist memories together on the path to liberating the country from the slavery of a regime that criminalized its people and tried to exterminate its components, once in the infamous Anfal operations. In which more than 180,000 women, children and the elderly were killed, another in the face of the people’s uprising in Ramadan in 1991, and a third with chemical weapons in the city of Halabja, whose thirty-sixth anniversary we commemorated a few days ago, and many more.
Ladies and gentlemen, attendees
The leaders of the Badr Organization, led by Mr. Hadi Al-Amiri, and in partnership with their brothers in other national movements and parties across the nation’s map, took the lead in establishing the political process that followed the fall of the regime in 2003. They participated with their brothers in writing the texts of the 2005 constitution and laying out the features of the new political system. They were not far from running in elections and participating in negotiations to form successive governments.
The role of the Badr Organization did not stop there. It was one of the first to confront the terrorism of Al-Qaeda and ISIS. It shed the blood of its sons along with the blood of their brothers in the army, the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Peshmerga, and the various types of security forces, in order to liberate the lands occupied by the terrorist organization. This was perhaps the most difficult task. It is to consolidate the democratic system, prevent the return of dictatorship, monopolize decision-making, maintain the security and stability that Iraq is witnessing today, and continue providing services to the people.
My wishes to the brothers in Badr, leaders, members and affiliates, all success and success. May the Iraqi people have peace and prosperity. Glory be to the martyrs of Iraq.
Peace, mercy and blessings of God
