Mr. Al-Hakim stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “this evening he received the President of the Iranian Supreme Judicial Council, Sheikh Mohseni Ejei, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of some leaders of the coordination framework, and he congratulated everyone on the auspicious births of the Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them),” stressing “The official visits exchanged between Iraq and Iran are evidence of the social and religious ties between the Iraqi and Iranian peoples.”
He referred to “the nature of the commonalities between the two friendly peoples,” speaking about “the role of the holy shrines in the two countries and the two blessed seminaries in the Holy City of Najaf and Holy Qom, as well as the commonality of religious rituals with the presence of the majority of Ahl al-Bayt’s followers in the two friendly neighboring countries.”
He stated that “the largest social component contributed to the overthrow of the dictatorial regime, and they now have a pivotal and central role in Iraqi management and decision-making,” noting that “this is due to the nature of the sacrifices made by the Iraqi people and the blood of the martyrs that were shed to support this people and their freedom.”
He also referred to “the challenges that Iraq has faced in the last two decades, and we have also made it clear that our country has overcome the social, political and security challenges with the wisdom of its people and the support of friends, most notably the Islamic Republic of Iran,” explaining “the nature of the roles that the coordination framework and before it the National Alliance have undertaken and continue to undertake, as the These roles contributed to overcoming many problems and crises.”
He continued: “We also pointed out the pivotal role of the supreme religious authority, represented by Imam Sayyid al-Sistani (may his soul be long) in stabilizing the Iraqi situation through His Eminence’s wise guidance in the critical stages. He pointed to “the developments in the Palestinian issue, with the genocide to which the Palestinian people are exposed. We praised Iraq’s position as a religious authority, governmental and popular, in defending their Palestinian brothers and making known their oppression, and we denounced the international support for the Zionist entity in its aggression against Palestine.”
Regarding the international coalition to combat ISIS, he stressed that “this coalition came at the request of the government, and after Iraq was declared free of ISIS, it no longer needs the philosophy of its existence to disappear, as Iraq no longer accepts international guardianship, and we renewed our support for the government’s steps in the dialogue to end the coalition’s tasks.” The International Conference for a specific period of time, also explaining the nature of the reconstruction and development projects that Iraq is witnessing under the direct supervision of the Sudanese government, and with the support of the coordination framework.
