US airlines fuel costs soared in April to $6.5 billion

U.S. passenger airlines’ fuel ​costs jumped 78% ‌in April to nearly $6.5 billion over the ​same month ​last year as the ⁠conflict in the Middle ​East has sharply ​driven up fuel costs, the U.S. Transportation Department ​said Monday.
