The United States of America announced that it does not intend to send troops to Ukraine to participate in combat operations there.
US National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson told reporters on Tuesday, “President Biden was clear that the United States would not send troops to fight in Ukraine.”
This comes against the backdrop of French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement that it cannot be ruled out that sending Western forces to Ukraine to prevent Russia from achieving victory, which he made at the conclusion of an international conference on supporting Ukraine in Paris, on Monday.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Vitso confirmed that some members of the European Union and NATO are studying the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine based on bilateral agreements with Kiev.
But NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed that the alliance is not planning anything like this. A number of senior officials in several European countries also ruled out sending their countries’ forces to Ukraine.
