A statement by the Football Association’s media channel, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “the training took place at the New York University training centers in Saadiyat, and all 26 players participated.”
He added, “The President of the Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muften, met with the national team players and the technical staff after the end of the training and urged them to redouble their efforts at the current stage in order to continue strengthening the honorable image of Iraqi football, and to strive to preserve the gains that have been achieved.”
He explained, “The President of the Iraqi Football Federation, Adnan Darjal, stressed, on the sidelines of a meeting with the national team players, the importance of providing the best levels and leaving a positive imprint to raise Iraq’s name high in this important entitlement.”
It is hoped that the national team will undergo a final training session this Friday morning before facing the South Korean team, which will be held without an audience, before the Mesopotamia Lions begin their participation in the Asian Cup finals scheduled to be held in Qatar for the period from the 12th of January to the 10th. ) from next February.
