A statement by the Ministry of Interior, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, accompanied by a number of ministry leaders, visited the headquarters of the border forces command to open a number of new buildings and headquarters that were recently established, and he was briefed on the work of the border camera monitoring center, and listened to To a brief explanation from the Commander of the Border Forces about the efforts made to secure the country’s borders in general, especially in the field of combating drugs, human trafficking, and cross-border pests.”
The minister praised, according to the statement, “the distinguished efforts achieved by the border forces in controlling the Iraqi borders with neighboring countries, which contributed to stabilizing the security situation inside the country.”
