Today, Wednesday, the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, directed to increase the flow of vehicle movement and intensify security checks, during his inspection of a number of external controls on the Diyala-Kirkuk Road.
A statement from the ministry received by Al-Rasheed stated, “Al-Shammari inspected a number of external checkpoints on the Diyala-Kirkuk road, accompanied by the two undersecretaries for police and intelligence affairs and a group of officers.”
He added, “The Minister directed the security services present in these controls to increase the smooth flow of small vehicles and loads in conjunction with intensifying security scrutiny of wanted persons and following up on smugglers of narcotic and prohibited materials, in addition to intensifying the intelligence effort within the areas of responsibility.”
