The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, directed to expedite the activation of procedures for registering weapons and purchasing medium-sized weapons.
The Ministry stated in a statement received by Al-Rasheed, “Today, Saturday, Al-Shammari chaired a meeting that included leaders and officers of the police services in Dhi Qar Governorate.”
She added, “At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Shammari recalled the martyr, the heroic Brigadier General (Aziz Shalal Jahl), Director of Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism in Dhi Qar, offering his condolences to all his fans and comrades.”
The minister said, “Sometimes martyrdom is a seed for success and a key to achieving security, as we witnessed during the liberation battles, indicating that the innocent blood that was shed for Iraq was the beginning of the path to liberation, preserving security, and spreading peace.”
He stressed “the importance of the work of the security services in preserving lives and property, especially in light of the great government support and bold decisions to support the policeman, enhance his role, and raise the prestige of the law.”
He added, “Loyalty must be to Iraq and not to the tribe or any other party.”
In another axis, the Minister directed “to expedite the activation of procedures for registering weapons and purchasing medium-sized ones.”
He stressed, “the intensification of efforts by all branches and formations of the security services in Dhi Qar to combat drugs, in addition to following up on seditionists and inciters of violence,” calling for “full enforcement of traffic laws on the street.”
