Last Saturday, September 13, 2025, the prestigious Dutch Lion Awards Gala took place in the Jaarbeurs Utrecht, an evening full of glamor, fashion and talent. The event, organized by the Dutch Lion Foundation, fourth rising Dutch fashion talent with awards for Emerging Talent and Emerging Model. The Ready to Wear collection of designer Tessa Koops, was well appreciated by the enthusiastic audience. Tessa showed its new fall collection with no fewer than 20 models.
Character and inspiration
Koops, known for its colorful and timeless designs, combined daring prints with female silhouettes, inspired by retro-styles from the 70s. Her collection, consisting of power suits and elegant dresses, executed in warm fall tones, emphasized individuality and joyful elegance. The show was visited by the international audience of fashion industry leaders, designers and media.
“A TOP EVENING”
For Koops itself, the gala was more than just a show moment. “It was an evening that was very well organized, and found it impressive how the room was dressed with a huge red carpet and many photographers.” “Every guest felt special,” she says. “I really enjoyed the evening. It was a moment for me to show my collection to a new and varied audience.”
According to Koops, the atmosphere and enthusiasm of organizers and participants of the De Avond program made so special. “In addition to my collection, there were designers from, among others, Syria, Miami, Spain and Angola.” “It was not the static presentation that you are used to in fashion, but dynamic, with show elements and even dancing spectators.” “That made it surprising and festive. I would participate again.”
With this show, Tessa Koops confirmed its growing international ambition, focusing on sustainable expansion in Europe. Her ready-to-wear collection not only exudes craftsmanship, but also her philosophy: clothing that gives women strength and self-confidence.
