Fashion brand Summum developed a special Capsule Collection
In collaboration with the Orange Babies Foundation. Summum of each item sold item donates a part to the Orange Babies project Stand Up for Girls. With that project, the Foundation supports Vulnerable Girls in Namibia, Zambia and South Africa with Education, for a Brighter Future.
Stand Up For The Girls
The vast majority of all young girls and women with HIV in the world live in the southern part of Africa. Causes for that shockingly high concentration of HIV-infected women are countless: lack of access to health care and education are important factors, but also heartbreaking things such as enormous gender inequality and sexual violence.
The Orange Babies Foundation has set up a project that supports girls in Namibia, Zambia and South Africa in the pursuit of a better future: the successful Stand Up for Girls. Education is the key, because girls with training have a 50% less chance of HIV infection. In practice, however, it appears that many girls from poor families do not go to school. Orange Babies is changing that with the help of specially trained teams, who detect girls at home to bring them to school. Orange Babies pays the school fees and the school uniform, helps with psychosocial problems, mentally resilient the girls with empowering programs and ensures two meals a day.
Summum for Orange Babies
Summum is committed to this goal with the special Capsule Collection Summum by Orange Babies. Part of each item sold from that collection goes to the Stand Up for Girls project. Summum Founder Jorien Wijker: ‘I think it’s great for words that many girls can’t go to school there and have no insight into a better future. With this special Capsule Collection, we support and empower young women in the places where Orange Babies is active with access to education, care and a safe environment. ‘
The Summum for Orange Babies Capsule collection will be available from 6 June, on the Summum webshop and in the store.
