Couturier Sepehr Maghsoudi will present his 27th couture collection, EVIL = LIVE, at the Vrij Paleis in Amsterdam on July 11 and 12. Instead of a traditional fashion show, the designer opts for an exhibition with six couture installations. The exhibition is free of charge on both days, according to the press release.
The collection is inspired by the human consequences of war. Maghsoudi, who fled from Iran to the Netherlands with his parents as a child, incorporates themes such as loss, displacement and memory. The installations are made of materials that, according to the designer, refer to power and authority.
With EVIL = LIVE, Maghsoudi continues his practice in which fashion and social themes come together. The Dutch designer regularly presents his couture in the form of conceptual projects and exhibitions, with an emphasis on the meaning behind the designs.
