The head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, confirmed today, Thursday, that salaries are secured in the 2024 budget and there is no financial crisis in Iraq.

Al-Atwani said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “The Finance Committee in the House of Representatives is awaiting the arrival of the schedules for the general federal budget law for the year 2024 from the government, to speed up their approval in order to release funding, and implement development and service plans in various sectors.”
He added: “As we renew our call on the government to expedite sending these schedules, we reassure our dear people that the salaries of employees and retirees and the social protection network are fully secured in the 2024 budget, and that there is no financial crisis in the country.”
