According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, Real Madrid’s management decided to extend Modric’s contract with the club for another season, ending in the summer of 2025.
The Spanish newspaper indicated that Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, has already reached a final agreement with Modric regarding the new contract.
She explained, “The decision came thanks to the level presented by Modric in recent weeks, and the role he played in Real Madrid reaching the Champions League final, in addition to the administration’s unwillingness to shake the team by losing the Croatian star alongside Toni Kroos during the same summer.”
She stated, “Modric is not now thinking about retiring from football, and he does not rule out that his farewell to football will be after the 2026 World Cup.”
It is noteworthy that “Kroos announced yesterday, Tuesday, his retirement after the end of the Euro 2024 competitions.”
