EXCLUSIVE: Plan B Europe, the recently launched London-based subsidiary of Brad Pitt’s L.A.-based Plan B Entertainment, is expanding its team with two key producer hires.
Former Sony Pictures Television International exec Maria Fleischer joins as Executive Producer, while Charlie Silver arrives from House Productions to take up the role of Development Producer.
The hires come seven months after the subsidiary was launched with Baby Reindeer producer Ed Macdonald at the helm.
The pair will support the subsidiary’s founding mission to develop and produce projects in the UK and across Europe.
Fleischer was previously at Sony Pictures Television International as VP, Original Development, building a TV slate for the Internal Studio.
She began her career at Origin Pictures, before working for Fox Searchlight in the UK development and production team.
From there, she became Head of Development at DNA Films and TV, working across the feature slate but chiefly building a TV slate under an FX overall deal, including a series adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go, before moving to Sony.
Silver has spent the past eight years at Tessa Ross’ House Productions, where he developed projects across both the television and film slates.
On the TV side, these include James Graham’s Sherwood for the BBC and Stephen Butchard’s The Good Mothers for Disney+/Hulu. On the film side, he worked across Andrea Arnold’s Bird and Danny Boyle’s Ink, which is currently in post-production
Co-led by Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, Plan B Entertainment has been part of Paris-based pan-European content group Mediawan since 2022.
The award-winning film and television producer is riding high on a slew of award-winning and chart-topping films and series including F1 The Movie, Adolescence, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Women Talking, and Nickel Boys.
Launched in September 2025, with Macdonald at the helm, the new London base is designed to foster the company’s continued growth, with an increased focus on premium series and films in the UK and across Europe.
Already active in the market, Plan B Europe has multiple projects in paid development with buyers and announces the strengthening of its team against this backdrop.
“As we continue to grow our distinctive slate in the UK and across Europe, Maria and Charlie are two exceptional additions. With their sharp editorial instincts and key relationships, I am absolutely thrilled to be welcoming them to the Plan B family,” said Macdonald.
Created in 2015 by Pierre-Antoine Capton, Xavier Niel, and Matthieu Pigasse, Mediawan group currently gathers more than 80 production labels operating in 13 countries.
Alongside Plan B Entertainment, they include Miraculous Corp (U.S./France), See-Saw Films (UK/Australia), Drama Republic and Misfits (UK), Palomar and Our Films (Italy), Leonine Studios (Germany), Boomerang and Good Mood (Spain), Submarine (Netherlands/US), Chapter 2 and Chi-Fou-Mi (France).
