Three companies are joining forces for a ‘Saisei Collection’ (Saisei is Japanese for ‘rebirth’ or ‘regeneration’). Namely: the Austrian Lenzing Group, stretch fiber manufacturer Asahi Kasei and Japanese denim manufacturer Kaihara Denim. The denim collection will be presented for the first time at the Kingpins Amsterdam denim fair on October 23 and 24, 2024, according to a press release. The new denim collection that should serve as an example for an innovative and environmentally friendly approach to denim.
The collaboration combines the expertise of the three companies. For example, Lenzing supplies its Lenzing™ Ecovero™ viscose fibers, produced with a lower ecological footprint. The manufacturer then processes the fibers with the Refibra™ technology for the use of recycled cotton. Asahi Kasei contributes with recycled stretch yarns, while Kaihara Denim, known for its stretch denim fabric, provides the collection with comfort with stretch fibers.
The press release underlines that the Saisei Collection during the Kingpins Amsterdam denim fair should serve as proof that high-quality denim is both aesthetically pleasing and sustainable: “The collection marks an important step in the transition to a greener fashion industry and is expected to reach the international market. inspire with its innovative and environmentally friendly approach to denim.”
