The Lebanese Hezbollah announced on Friday that it had targeted a gathering of Israeli army soldiers in the vicinity of the Jal site
Al-Alam and artillery positions in Dishon, confirming direct hits.
Hezbollah explained in a statement: “At 04:30 in the afternoon, Friday 03/08/2024, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance targeted a gathering of enemy soldiers in the vicinity of the Jal al-Alam site with a single Falaq missile and hit it directly.” .
Hezbollah added: “In response to the enemy’s attacks on the steadfast southern villages and civilian homes, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance targeted, at 18:18 on Friday 03/08/2024, the enemy’s artillery positions in Dishon with Katyusha rockets.”
Israeli media reported that “sirens were heard in Dishon, Al-Malikiyah, and Ramot Naftali in the Upper Galilee.”
Israeli Channel 13 reported that Israeli Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy had instructed the preparation of plans for a possible ground operation in Lebanon and to draw lessons from the Gaza war.
Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib also said on Friday evening that Beirut is continuing its efforts aimed at containing the escalation between Hezbollah and Israel.
With the escalation of the clashes between Hezbollah and the Israeli army, voices are being raised warning that the situation will slide into a large-scale war, affecting all Lebanese territories, while the borders are still witnessing tension and intermittent exchanges of fire.
