Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce told his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, that he “crossed the line” during a heated exchange with coach Andy Reid in the second quarter of Super Bowl XVIII “.
Early in the Chiefs’ eventual Super Bowl victory, broadcast cameras captured Travis yelling and bumping into Reid after the Chiefs’ third drive ended with a fumble by running back Isiah Pacheco .
“You crossed a line. I think we can all agree on that,” Jason said on the latest episode of his podcast, New Heights. “To be honest, the yelling in his face was a little too much. Looking back, I think there was a better way to handle this.”
Travis admitted he crossed a line and said he “couldn’t get himself excited” enough that he “bumped into the coach, which made him lose his balance and stuff like that.”
Travis later added that he only wanted to play for Reid and that he would follow suit if Reid retired.

The incident was widely discussed after the Chiefs won 25-22 in overtime, but Reid downplayed the incident.
“He knocked me off balance,” Reed said. “I wasn’t watching. He actually came over (and said), ‘Just put me in and I’m going to score. I’m going to score. So, that’s exactly what happened. I love that. It’s not the first time. I admire him very much.”
