Baghdad/ Nina / The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, to develop and strengthen cooperation relations in the fields of work, social affairs, and social protection, at the conclusion of the meetings of the joint Iraqi-Syrian committee in its twelfth session held in Baghdad for a period of 20 -2/21/2024.
At the end of the joint committee meetings, according to a statement by the ministry, memorandums of understanding were also signed by the Ministries of Commerce, Construction and Housing with the Syrian side in areas that serve the economic and investment relations of the two countries.
The memorandum signed with the Syrian side in the field of labor includes cooperation and exchange of experiences in labor legislation and laws, employment policies and programs, reducing unemployment, programs to support entrepreneurship, protecting the rights of expatriate workers, labor inspection and social dialogue systems, social security systems and how to invest social insurance funds. .
The memorandum also aims to support the care, empowerment and integration of people with disabilities, the empowerment of women and gender issues, care for children without family care, rural development, and the exchange of experiences on how to deal with social groups covered by social care./End 8
