Advisor to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, explained that the Kingdom carried out an airdrop of quality food aid to the Gaza Strip.
Al-Rabiah said in a press statement to the Saudi Press Agency, “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia carried out the airdrop of quality food aid to the Gaza Strip in cooperation with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization and the Jordanian Hashemite Armed Forces (the Arab Army) with the aim of breaking the closure of the Israeli occupation forces on the border crossings, which prevented the entry of humanitarian aid to those affected in the Strip.”
He pointed out that “the Kingdom provided Jordan, through the King Salman Relief Center, with parachutes and nets designated for airdrops of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, weighing 30 tons,” indicating that “the food supplies provided by the King Salman Relief Center are suitable for direct use without the need for stoves to heat them.”
He stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to support humanitarian work in the Gaza Strip and deliver aid to our brothers there in all possible ways and means, and to overcome the problem of closing land and sea crossings through airdrop operations, calling for the opening of the crossings to allow the entry of massive humanitarian aid to those affected.
He explained that the Kingdom has been interacting since the first day of the outbreak of the crisis in the Gaza Strip, and the war waged against the defenceless Palestinian people in the Strip. Under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince, the Kingdom launched a large popular donation campaign that has so far collected financial sums exceeding 184 million US dollars, and operated an air bridge consisting of 54 aircraft and another sea bridge consisting of 8 ships, and the bridges are still ongoing.
Al-Rabiah expressed his thanks and gratitude to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his loyal Crown Prince, for the remarkable and qualitative humanitarian aid they are providing to support international efforts and alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people, asking God Almighty to make this in the balance of their good deeds and reward them on behalf of Islam and Muslims with all good and to hasten the end of this difficult humanitarian crisis for our Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip.
