H&M seems to have been inspired by a shoe design by the Belgian brand Ottange. The fashion chain has the Ottange model ‘Bandini’, which is part of the SS25 collection, copied, Ottange shares in its Instagram on Wednesdaystories.
The black slingback heel with knotted details of H&M are almost identical to the ‘Bandini’ of Ottange. The Belgian brand is therefore emotional and writes: “What is the purpose of abusing a young brand that has just got off the ground?”
Ottange shared her design for the first time in May/June. “We worked on development and productions for a year. I worked overtime for a year without seeing my toddler, made personal investments and made countless changes to this day.”
The Belgian brand sees that copying young labels is a ‘systematic’ problem due to large fashion chains. “The aim of producing huge amounts of thoughtless product – how many styles can be made, how quickly can they be played and how much profit can be made. Of course, the designer would get this ‘diligent’ process in the way of consultation.”
