Spanish press reports confirmed today, Saturday, that Norwegian Erling Haaland, the Manchester City star, maintained his dream of signing with Real Madrid in the future.
According to the AS newspaper, Haaland’s statement when asked about Real Madrid, and his answer that he did not know what would happen with him in the future, caused an earthquake in England, especially since he could answer that his future was in “City.”
The Spanish newspaper indicated that the possibility of seeing Haaland in Madrid in the future, despite the approaching arrival of Kylian Mbappe, is not completely closed.
She explained that, in order to finalize the deal, Real Madrid is betting on Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimienta, who placed a clause in his contract with Manchester City that allows him to leave starting in the summer of 2024, with a penalty clause available to non-English clubs.
She stated that if Haaland responds to City’s pressure and agrees to renew his contract, Pimienta will be keen to put in place a new clause through which the Merengues can sneak through to settle the deal.
AS revealed that there is a problem in how to combine the salaries of Haaland and Kylian Mbappe (if the deal for the French striker is completed), but this is not true because the new Bernabeu will provide the Royal Club with new economic resources amounting to 150 million euros starting next season.
