Gabbiano takes the next step in their sustainability ambitions with the introduction of the Pacific and Atlantic jeans. Inspired by the oceans, these new jeans focus on reducing the ecological impact of fashion production, with a special focus on water conservation. The names Pacific and Atlantic emphasise the importance of water, both in the production process and in the broader environmental debate.
Sustainable Production with Ecoflat Technology
Denim production is known for its high water consumption, which is one of the biggest challenges in the sector. Gabbiano aims to tackle this challenge by using Ecoflat technology, an innovation that significantly reduces water consumption during the production process. This allows the brand to drastically reduce the amount of water needed to make a pair of jeans, contributing to their commitment to more sustainable production methods.
The Pacific and Atlantic jeans are named after oceans, a reference to the scale of water pollution in the fashion industry and the urgent need to find solutions. With the combination of this collection and the Ecoflat technology, Gabbiano is taking a concrete step towards more sustainable production processes that are in line with their environmental goals. The need to reduce the negative impact of the fashion industry on water resources and water waste is very important to the brand.
The line consists of the Atlantic regular fit, and the Pacific slim fit jeans, in Dark blue, Mid bleach and Black wash colours, a versatile selection of washes. The current range is Never-out-of-stock, but will be supplemented each season with temporary, seasonal colours. Made from high-quality and sustainable denim, Gabbiano jeans combine style with comfort for the modern wearer.
Collaboration with Water For Life
Another aspect of this denim line is the collaboration with Water For Life, a Dutch initiative that is committed to access to clean drinking water and sanitation in developing countries. For the jeans sold, Gabbiano donates a fixed amount to the foundation, which supports projects in Africa and Asia, such as the construction of water pipes, the construction of toilets and the provision of hygiene training.
This collaboration ties in with Gabbiano’s broader commitment to responsible choices, combining better production methods with social initiatives.
The Pacific and Atlantic jeans are not only a fashion choice, but also a way to contribute to a more sustainable and socially conscious fashion landscape. As Gabbiano himself states: “Change is inevitable, in every segment of the market responsibility is a requirement. By taking this step, we all contribute to a positive change in the fashion industry.”
