
France’s digital minister has announced that 35 sites were ready to host data centres in the country, as the global AI summit opens its doors. It’s an opportunity for Emmanuel Macron to show France is a key contender on the world stage when it comes to AI. Speaking to France 24, Meta’s chief AI scientist Yann Le Cun said the success of Chinese AI company DeepSeek was a warning to OpenAI that “they aren’t as ahead as they think they are, or at least not for very long.”
