Egypt issued a statement reiterating its deep concern regarding the mutual Iranian-Israeli escalation, warning of the consequences of the expanding conflict in the region.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, Egypt expressed its deep concern about the continued mutual escalation between Israel and Iran, following reports of missile strikes and marches against sites in Iran and Syria.
Egypt called on both parties to exercise the utmost levels of restraint and fully comply with the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter, warning of the consequences of the expanding conflict and instability in the region, and its dangerous effects on the security and safety of its people.
Egypt stressed that it will continue to intensify its contacts with all concerned and influential parties in order to contain the ongoing tension and escalation.
Western media reported that the Israeli army bombed sites in Iran today, while Iranian officials denied any attack and confirmed that the sound of explosions in Isfahan was the result of the activation of the Iranian air defense system.
Media also reported that Israel launched raids on southern Syria coinciding with reports of an attack it carried out on targets in Iran.
