Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan witnessed the signing ceremony of a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding between the two countries.
The Egyptian and Turkish presidents signed the joint declaration on restructuring the meetings of the high-level Strategic Cooperation Council between Egypt and Turkey.
The Egyptian President said, “I would first like to welcome His Excellency Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his first visit to Egypt in more than 10 years, so that we can open together a new chapter between our two countries in a way that enriches our bilateral relationship and puts it on the right track.”
President Sisi added during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the Federal Palace, “I affirm our pride and appreciation for our historical relationship with Turkey and the common civilizational and cultural heritage between us.”
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Egypt to meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi after participating as a guest of honor in the World Government Summit in Dubai.
The Egyptian presidency said in a statement that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is scheduled to hold expanded discussions with President Erdogan to advance joint efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, and to discuss many regional files and challenges, especially the ceasefire in Gaza and the implementation of humanitarian aid to the people of the Strip.
For its part, the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Department indicated that the talks that will take place with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi “will focus on the steps that can be taken within the framework of developing relations between Turkey and Egypt and activating high-level bilateral cooperation mechanisms.”
