The annual 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards ceremony takes place last night at the American Museum of Natural History. Thom Browne, president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), welcomed guests, nominees and guests to the opening.
This year, multi-award-winning actress and singer Cynthia Erivo will host the event, along with other well-known figures who will present the awards to the winners.

Rachel Scott of Diotima and Willy Chavarria, the designer of his eponymous brand, are the big winners of the evening. They win the prize for American Womenswear Designer of the Year and the prize for American Menswear Designer of the Year respectively.
Luar’s Rual Lopez is named American Accessory Designer of the Year. The winner of the Google Shopping American Emerging Designer of the Year award is Henry Zankov of Zankov.

Coach creative director Stuart Vevers will be on hand to accept the Innovation Award, presented by Amazon Fashion on behalf of the US label’s Gen Z-focused sister brand, Coachtopia. Prior to Vevers’ acceptance, Charles Melton, Kelsea Ballerini and Jenny Freshwater introduced the guest of honor.
Journalist Hamish Bowles receives the Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert. Michael Kors receives the Positive Change Award.
American singer-songwriter Erykah Badu is given the title of fashion icon, an honor previously awarded to stars such as Zendaya, Serena Williams and Kim Kardashian.

Other recipients include Annie Leibovitz, who will receive the Media Award in Honor of Eugenia Sheppard; the late Isabel Toledo, who will receive the renamed Isabel Toledo Board of Directors’ Tribute; Daniel Roseberry of Schiaparelli, who will receive the International Award; and Stephen Burrows, the recipient of the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
