Dior Cruise 2027 show
Against the backdrop of LACMA’s recently opened David Geffen Galleries, Anderson brought French craftsmanship into dialogue with the many facets of American glamour. The show opened with a trio of semi-sheer, drop-waist dresses adorned with rosettes, including a butter yellow creation in which Sabrina Carpenter arrived just minutes before the start of the fashion show.
The look that followed confirmed a theme that ran throughout the collection. Anderson showed off an embellished Bar jacket with a frayed hem and sleeves, paired with extremely ripped blue jeans. For a playful effect, the tears in the denim were sewn together with silver chains trompe l’oeileffect – although at first glance they might as well have been the jeans of a skater on Venice Beach.

Accessories remained a key part of the collection, with the signature Cigale handle bag seen across several looks. The house’s classics were also present, such as the Lady Dior and a baguette bag with newspaper print, a nod to the era of John Galliano. Shiny ladybug minaudières and headpieces designed by Philip Treacy with texts such as ‘Dior’, ‘star’ and ‘buzz’ contributed to the playful atmosphere.

Anderson understands that Dior’s heritage extends much further than the studio. In the run-up to the show, he released a short film that referenced To Catch a ThiefAlfred Hitchcock’s 1955 classic starring Dior muse and Hollywood icon Grace Kelly. In the galleries, a ’60s convertible was the centerpiece of the decor as models drove past guests like Jisoo, Anya Taylor-Joy and Miley Cyrus as if they were in a Hollywood movie scene.
