The fashion month, which ended on October 1 in Paris and focused on spring/summer 2025, inspired the second-hand market to make purchases immediately. Fashion weeks are influential, especially on the second-hand fashion platforms, where everyone is looking for the equivalent of the pieces they loved on the catwalk. From the top brands on the market to the most sought-after pieces, here are the trends that will be big sellers on the second-hand market.
Disney T-shirts
The Coperni duo Arnaud Vaillant and Sébastien Meyer, who are used to high-level fashion shows, have once again hit the mark with their SS25 collection in Disneyland Paris. The nostalgic power of the Disney spirit was expressed on vintage T-shirts featuring Mickey and the films of the American company. The show notes even presented these tops as authentic pieces from the era: “Vintage Disney t-shirts are combined with modern styles, while water themes appear through the prints of beloved characters.”
Long sleeve or short sleeve T-shirts, Disney T-shirts are now easy to find on resale platforms. But this return to the runway should also boost the popularity of collector’s items from Disney’s past collaborations with luxury labels such as Gucci, Givenchy and Stella McCartney.
The K-Way and the Aigle parka
As a key part of the Athletic Chic trend for Spring/Summer 2025, K-Ways and parkas will be more in demand than ever on second-hand platforms. The colorful aesthetic of the former reflects the 1980s craze, while the neutral tones of the latter recall the appeal of outdoor basics now associated with the urban wardrobe.
The K-Way with zipper from the brand of the same name will find (or renew) its place on the shelves for second-hand items. Likewise, the Aigle brand and its iconic parkas will see an increase in searches on specialized platforms such as Vinted or directly on the “Second Hand” tab launched on the Aigle e-shop.
Because K-Way and Aigle are classics synonymous with quality, buying second-hand has become increasingly popular in recent years. Both companies have recently modernized their images, drawing on their heritage and expertise (Aigle has been around for 171 years, K-Way will soon be 60).
The 90s t-shirt
With its short sleeves that fall flush with the elbows, the crew-neck t-shirt has been seen on many catwalks this season, from Rabanne to Totem, via Shiatzy Chen and Sandy Liang. This garment will be especially popular in the second-hand segment as it is made from heavy cotton with oversized proportions. Vintage details such as flocked logos, designs or messages will also add to the desirability.
The knee-length skirt from Miu Miu
Miu Miu (Prada group) is one of the most influential names of recent seasons. The SS25 show was eagerly awaited and, unlike previous collections, artistic director Miuccia Prada ditched the ultra-short skirt in favor of the knee-length skirt, one of the Italian label’s great classics.
The criss-cross or pleated skirt was often introduced by Miu Miu in the 90s and 2000s – one of the geometric patterns in the SS25 collection even comes from a 2005 collection. This feminine piece is once again a hit, with previous versions featuring certainly arouse the interest of collectors and connoisseurs on second-hand platforms.
The Ganni icons
This season, the Danish label Ganni organized a show in Paris for the first time, increasing its visibility internationally and therefore on resale platforms. The brand, known for its optimistic approach to fashion and its innovative materials, presented a wardrobe true to its colorful, feminine and cheerful DNA. And in the same spirit, we look second-hand for the iconic pieces: the blouses with the Peter Pan collar (a wide collar with ruffles) and the ballet flats with buckles.
Buying the brand on resale platforms makes all the more sense as prices there are more affordable for the young student customers attracted by its progressive approach – Ganni is built with an environmental consciousness and an inclusive approach.
The beige Inspector Colombo raincoat
The long, beige raincoat in Inspector Columbo style was the common denominator for many brands this season. From The Row to Coach, the understated lines fit the general craze for oversized silhouettes. It is also a garment often found in thrift stores and suits a wide range of styles. Its versatility makes it a lasting success.
Rabanne’s 1969 bag
This season, the Rabanne brand made itself heard by presenting “the most expensive bag in the world” as part of the spring/summer 2025 collection. It is a reissue of the iconic bag from 1969 in a gold version, designed in collaboration with jeweler Arthus Bertrand . This highlight of the Rabanne wardrobe promises an increase in research for the earlier versions in gold or silver metal.
It should be noted that the brand also gained popularity among a wider, younger audience in 2023 by collaborating with H&M on a capsule collection entitled “Pool party”.
The jacket and the Saint Laurent archive
For Saint Laurent’s spring/summer 2025 collection, creative director Anthony Vaccarello has further developed the powerful, feminine silhouette inherited from Yves Saint Laurent. This helps to maintain the image of a label with a strong heritage and therefore its appeal on the second-hand market. The myth is also reinforced by the androgynous silhouettes reminiscent of the founder, recalling Yves Saint Laurent’s statement in an interview: “the Saint Laurent woman is me”.
But more than a fad for its archival pieces, the iconic fashion house’s show confirmed the desirability of two great basics on the resale market: the leather jacket and the oversized suit jacket. The visibility of this second piece was all the more striking because it was part of one of the most viewed silhouettes of Fashion Month, worn by Bella Hadid, a star model who had left the catwalks for several seasons.
Note that the suit jacket was present at many of the shows. Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta offered a version that was “too big” and “not her size,” as if it were already second-hand.
The Prada archives
By abandoning the idea of uniforms in favor of individual and multiple styles, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons have made the Prada SS25 collection a reflection of our times, addicted to Vinted and its diversity. The collection’s silhouettes combined pieces seemingly picked at random from the house’s archives in a tousled yet harmonious mix. So many retro references that will increase the popularity on the resale market of this great Italian fashion house, which dominates Fashion Weeks season after season.
The vest
With its deceptively bourgeois allure, the small knit cardigan conquered the catwalks for spring/summer 2025. It had already made a comeback with the Miu Miu autumn-winter 2023 show (a potential source for the resale market), and the trend continues this season . While connoisseurs will turn to the archives of houses like Prada, Chanel and Loro Piana, the general public will be able to easily find this fashion classic on all resale platforms, whether it has a label or not.
