In 2025 the international fashion company Bestseller will celebrate its 50th anniversary. The celebration includes a design competition, in which international fashion students and talents are invited to create a capsule collection that interprets design for five decades.
Since 1975, when Bestseller was founded, fashion has been a kaleidoscope of change, a constant evolution of style, trends and self -expression. New ways of rugs were created, while trends and looks have been conceived time and time again. With the launch of a design competition, the fashion company now wants to take a creative look at the fashion landscape of the past 50 years.
“From the outset, one of the cornerstones has been for Bestseller. We are always driven by a strong belief in the importance of proximity with our customers, colleagues, partners and not to mention the product. We want to celebrate this with our competition. We are curious how design talents draw inspiration from our creative legacy and bring this to life in contemporary and future fashion, “says Louise Sylvest, CPO and Head of Bestseller Identity.
A bridge between the past and now
The design competition is facilitated by the fashion brand Selected, which creates contemporary clothing for both men and women. The brand hopes to see entries that match Selected’s Focus on quality and Scandinavian design, with attention to sustainability and a long service life.

International talent development
The main prize is 5,000 euros, while second and third place receive 3,000 and 2,000 euros respectively. In addition, the finalists are invited for two visits to Denmark. The first time to meet the selected design team and experience everything that a worldwide fashion company entails. The second visit serves to present their designs for experts and members of Bestseller’s top management. The competition is open to design talents from all over the world.

- Recent graduates and students in their last year (BA or MA)
- Independent designers who have had their own business for no more than two years
- Individuals with a professional or personal relationship with Bestseller cannot participate in the competition
- The deadline for uploading a project is March 20, 2025
