In addition to the abolition of the Closing Day obligation, the Summer Agreement of the Federal Government has delivered an important rule for stores and the expanded opening hours. It is called the Vinted exemption, according to reports from various media.
It is an exemption for online sales by private individuals. Thanks to the new rule, people no longer risk a tax of 33 percent as the amount of sold where there is no more than 2,000 euros.
Online platforms where private individuals sell items are required by a new European directive to pass on the transactions to the tax authorities of the country in which private individuals live. Many people sell private items such as clothing because they no longer fit De Stijl or is the wrong size.
The control of the transactions is mainly to assess whether there is trade. This can be, for example, when someone buys a lot of clothing and then sells it with a profit. This type of income must, for example, be passed on during a tax return as ‘diverse income’. A rate of 33 percent applies to this tax post.
