The 2025 Ballon d’Or award will see a fresh winner for the second consecutive year, with last year’s recipient Rodrigo Hernández Cascante, “Rodri”, absent from the 30-man shortlist announced on Thursday. Players from Paris Saint-Germain dominate the list with nine nominees following their Champions League triumph, while neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo feature. The award will be presented on September 22.
