Dozens of Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian village in the occupied West Bank, killing at least one person on Thursday (August 14), authorities said. Since Oct. 7, violence has flared in the occupied territory. Palestinian health officials say 633 Palestinians, including 147 children and teenagers, have been killed by Israeli fire and over 5,400 injured. FRANCE 24’s Rob Parsons gives us more analysis.

The World Health Organization on Thursday said a first case of mpox linked to an outbreak in Africa has been identified outside the continent after an infection was confirmed in Sweden. The news comes a day after the WHO declared mpox, also known as monkeypox, a global public health emergency.
