Athletics will become the first sport to introduce prize money at the Olympics this summer.World Athletics, the international athletics federation, says it will pay Olympic gold medal winners $50,000 (around £39,400) at the Paris games. Elon Musk has lambasted Alexandre de Moraes, one of the 10 judges on Brazil’s Supreme Court, for ordering X to block several accounts, including that of a blogger and two members of Congress. Peter Pellegrini of the left-wing nationalist Hlas-SD party has won Slovakia’s presidential election, official results showed. Pellegrini’s Hlas-SD is part of the ruling coalition, while opposition candidate Ivan Korcok is an independent. Pellegrini received 53.85% of the vote with ballots from over 98% of polling stations counted. Korcok garnered 46.14% of votes. Three men and two women have been killed during a fire in a largely residential building in Hong Kong. Another 27 people have been left injured. At least six of them are in a serious condition and one is critical, Hong Kong’s hospital authority said. Firefighters rushed to the New Lucky House in the Jordan neighbourhood after being called at around 7.53am local time on Wednesday, authorities said.The fire was extinguished by 9am local time, but police said people could still be heard calling for help from inside the 16-storey building.
