A children’s hospital has been seriously damaged in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, with the city’s mayor saying there had been casualties from a Russian strike. Footage posted on social media by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky shows smoke rising from Ohmatdyt Children’s Hospital, and broken windows inside the now deserted medical facility. The US state of Texas is bracing for the arrival of storm Beryl, which has strengthened into a hurricane again, according to the National Hurricane Center. Forecasters say the storm could bring destructive winds, storm surges and up to 25cm (10 inches) of rain when it makes landfall early on Monday local time.
