Anke de Jong launches If you can do it, I can do it too
There are moments when everything comes together. For me this is one of those moments. Here, in this ELLE. For three years now, running ELLE Netherlands has been by far my favorite activity, every day. Somehow the team manages to reinvent ourselves every day online and every edition in print. But besides ELLE, I had another love this past year: writing my first, and as I now feel, only (haha) book. A book that I wanted to write because I felt a great need for it at the age of twenty. A career and style book packed with advice from inspiring national and international role models. And at the end of October it’s here: If I can do it, you can do it too.
It has become a great inspiration book with nineteen of my favorite people, who are also enormously inspiring for my 37-year-old self. Further in the book: my own story. I had to dig deep for that, and I’ll tell you: it’s quite confronting to suddenly see your own life in black and white. So this is me.

To give you a foretaste, this ELLE contains a pre-publication (page 72). It’s the interview with my cool, funny, handsome and talented girlfriend Sarah Janneh. She and I met while filming Who is the mole? and after a somewhat rocky start we clicked for life. I am proud of the insight she gives into her soul and her wardrobe. And so did all the other interviewees. I hope the interviews and advice If I can do it, you can do it too will be a boost for whatever step you want to take. While I’m immersing myself in the launch of the book – and I’m enjoying it in terms of festivities, I can tell you, because I’m not getting married for the time being, so let’s go all out with this party – a new fashion season is also just around the corner.
