A security source reported on Friday that an officer was injured in an exchange of gunfire during the arrest of four people accused of drug trafficking south of the capital, Baghdad.
The source told Al-Rasheed, “An exchange of fire took place during a raid on a house to arrest those accused of trafficking in narcotic substances in the Doura area, south of Baghdad.”
He added, “The clash led to the injury of the commander of the detachment, an officer with the rank of captain, and the accused called (A.W.), who was arrested in addition to those present inside the house, who were two men and a woman, and narcotic drugs were seized.”
The source indicated, “The injured were transferred to Al Doura National Hospital to receive treatment.”
