Alex Albon has committed his long-term future to Williams after signing a “multi-year” contract extension.
London-born Thai Albon, 28, has been linked with a move to Mercedes following Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari and return to Red Bull in 2025.
Williams said: “The Thai driver has signed a multi-year contract extension, which takes the partnership into a new era of Formula One regulations and demonstrates a shared belief in the team’s upward trajectory.
“Since joining Williams Racing, Alex Albon has shown exceptional determination and dedication both on and off the track.
“His performances have been crucial to the team’s progress and success since he joined ahead of the 2022 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, with his efforts helping the team achieve its best championship result since 2017 (last year’s ranking Seventh) made great contributions.
Albon has secured 27 of Williams’ 28 points in the 2023 drivers’ championship as the team progresses in the constructors’ championship.
He added: “I am extremely pleased to be staying at Williams Racing and continuing to work with such a talented and dedicated team.
“It has been a difficult start to the year but we have made significant progress together since joining Williams and I have seen huge changes behind the scenes to get us back to the top.
