The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, chaired, in the presence of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, an expanded meeting with the heads of the parliamentary committees and their deputies, to discuss the legislative and oversight agenda and review it.” Laws and their scheduling during the coming period.”
He added, “Al-Mandalawi agreed with the committees to organize the meetings of the parliamentary committees and complete their legal quorum in a way that contributes to the maturity of all draft laws, especially those that are necessary in their corridors before their approval, in addition to activating their oversight role according to their specialization, while he directed the resumption of the council sessions starting next Saturday.” “And include laws ready for voting by the committees on the agenda of the upcoming sessions.”
He continued, “The meeting discussed a number of files, including the necessary coordination with the government on accelerating the resolution of some law proposals and sending the budget law schedules for the years 2024 and 2025, the repeated American attacks on Iraqi lands, and the steps that the Council will follow in this regard.”
