The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, stressed today, Tuesday, the importance of consolidating the principle of cooperation and coordination between the Baghdad Council and the province.

A statement by the media office of the head of the State of Law coalition, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “Al-Maliki received in his office the Chairman of the Baghdad Provincial Council, Ammar Al-Qaisi, accompanied by a number of members of the Provincial Council.”
The statement added, “Al-Maliki extended his congratulations to the President and members of the Baghdad Provincial Council on the occasion of assuming their duties,” and the statement noted, “The visit comes within the framework of strengthening communication with the political forces and the local government in Baghdad.”
Al-Maliki confirmed, according to the statement: “He was and continues to be a supporter of the local government, in order to advance the service situation of the capital,” expressing his “support for all the council’s efforts aimed at serving the people of Baghdad.”
The head of the State of Law Coalition pointed out “the importance of consolidating the principle of cooperation and coordination between the Council and the Governorate on the one hand, and the Baghdad Municipality on the other hand, in order to overcome challenges, create integration in services, and achieve the ambition of the people of Baghdad, for a better future for the center of the capital and its outskirts.”
For his part, Council President Ammar Al-Qaisi said, “The Council needs the support of all political and national forces in changing the reality of the city,” praising “Al-Maliki’s efforts in supporting local governments in order to enable them to provide service to the citizen.”
