5 questions to Danielle Robben from Artemis Academy
1. What do you do in the creative industry?
I am a co-owner and managing director of Artemis Academy. Artemis is the academy for creative concepting in trend forecasting, styling & design and art direction. We offer a recognized full-time HBO Bachelor of Arts and part-time modules for professionals. Spatial design plays an important role in our courses, with the fashion industry also an important part. Our students not only learn how to shape products and spaces aesthetically, but especially how they think conceptually about innovation for fashion and design. From a strong foundation – applied trend forecasting – they can develop innovative and substantiated concepts that are ahead of their time and make an impact.
2. What is the best thing about the work you do?
Develop education in co-creation with business and social organizations. The time that education was designed from the inside is behind us. Innovation and speed are crucial. We are in direct contact with the market, analyze trends and translate them at lightning speed into our curriculum. This ensures that our students work with the most relevant knowledge and skills. In addition, we recently launched new modules for professionals, together with experts such as Trend Forecaster and Culturel Insight Director Pernille Kok-Jensen, Future Strategist Bodil Jurg, Award-winning material designer Shahar Livne and Visual Storyteller Expert Alex Smith. These modules are designed to keep professionals up-to-date with the latest developments in their field. That dynamic, the switch between education and practice, makes my work incredibly inspiring.
3. What are you most proud of?
That we have fundamentally renewed Artemis in a short time and that this makes this impact. Last week we were visited by the management of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, precisely because our innovative education had been noticed. That confirms that we are on the right track and really make a difference.
4. Why is Artemis Academy interesting for fashion professionals?
The fashion industry is constantly on the move. New technologies, sustainability, changing consumer behavior and social developments require an innovative look. Artemis trains fashion professionals and creatives from other branches not only in design, aesthetics and art direction, but especially in the future -oriented and therefore innovative thinking. We learn professionals how they identify trends and translate them into innovative concepts. Think of circular design strategies, material innovation, multi sensory experiences, telling your story with image and how you apply AI in designs. Our modules help professionals to distinguish themselves and to take their expertise to a higher level, so that they are at the forefront of the industry.
