timeThere has always been a fascination here with medicine and its effects on the human body, from druidic crafts to medical science to mashing up half a Kraki cat; from experiments in human perception and opening the third eye to developing a slightly more muscular Possibility of upper arm.
Over the past few months, professional sports have demonstrated their own vision of radical tolerance. You’ve most likely heard of the Enhanced Games, simply because even though it doesn’t actually exist yet, it has a pretty good public relations department.
The basic premise is as simple as it is solid and shocking. What if we removed all barriers to taking medications during exercise? If we reward and celebrate medication-assisted achievements, explore the wild frontiers of unlocking human potential, and introduce newer, kinder language to destigmatize unfairly marginalized drug-using communities, drug users will become “empowered,” Will non-addicts become “natural”, supporters and “allies” to consumers?
Well, then you end up with the Enhanced Olympics, which (itself) is called the Olympics of the Future, with the first one still expected to take place sometime this year. The founder of “Enhanceds” is Aron Ping D’Souza. He is an American technology entrepreneur, personality capitalist, and a business person. His rhetoric style includes bragging about being extreme, cruel, and transformative. The honesty of the rules of the game, even when the most unbelievable nonsense is said.
According to D’Souza, at least 900 athletes have expressed interest in the enhanced competition since it was originally announced last summer, no doubt attracted by the cash prizes on offer, which include at least $1 million (£788,000). First ever augmented athlete publicly breaks Usain Bolt’s record [100m] world record”.
Two more critical steps have now been taken. Retired Australian Olympic swimmer James Magnussen has knocked on the door publicly for the first time by saying he is prepared to accept a $1.5 million offer to drive nails into his veins and attempt to break the 50m freestyle record ;At the same time, enhanced gaming really can’t emphasize this enough, breaking down the biases and false assumptions that have held you (yes, you) back for so long. That’s the big thing about augmented people, they’re the extremely cynical marketing geniuses of the whole thing. How do you make this feel reasonable and necessary, rather than weird and weird? How do you make people want to watch while still feeling good about it and not like some kind of Victorian peeping freak?
A closer look at your butt reveals that drug use is actually healthier, not less healthy. There is a timeline that shows even the ancient Greeks and Romans were drained of the show, but later the Romans also used pee to wash their clothes and were legally allowed to murder their children.
There’s a certain amount of hatred towards the elite, these old traditional powers that always get in the way. There’s a whole bunch of stuff out there about body autonomy, some big pharma boilerplate.
Mainly though it’s all about freedom. Surprisingly, shamelessly, brilliantly, drug-addicted athletes are portrayed here as marginalized minorities, victims of mass prejudice, the last frontier of social justice. It’s hard to express how disorientingly post-truth this all is. Perhaps it’s best to jump right into the part where enhanced games make this statement. “‘Doping’ is a colonial slur that smacks of symbolic and historical violence against black people and other populations and needs to be removed from our vocabulary.”
Yes. This is real. What they mean is that drug use is almost no different than black people. They are relating to adulterated life. They are comparing the burden of “empowerment communities” (i.e., drugged athletes) to the fight for civil rights, the legacy of slavery, centuries of bloody segregation and its associated scars.
This is of course very cynical and cheap. But it’s at least non-exclusive. Doing drugs isn’t just about being black. Drug use is like being gay. “If you think back to 50 years ago, being gay is like today it’s enhanced. It was stigmatized, it was marginalized,” D’Souza said. To realize this vision, the Enhanced website details how to educate families, Friends and colleagues’ attempts to “come out” (frankly, they don’t care, keep your tank top on), and talk a lot about allies, support networks, and kindness.
This is the most amazing nonsense; nonsense so bold, fresh and shameless that it makes you feel like standing up from your seat, throwing flowers, clapping like crazy and raising a hand to your blushing, heaving face turn. At that moment, at least we knew what it was.
Newsletter Promotion Post
This is a sales pitch. Provide your consumers with positive, topical promotions. The reason Enhanced has been so strong over the past few weeks is because a host of charismatic major players have secured significant investment, from the very wealthy, very anti-elite (again?) Balaji Srinivasan (Balaji Srinivasan) to Peter Thiel, the quintessential disruptor-rainmaker type, who often seemed to talk about “creating new spaces for freedom,” a phrase that, no matter what voice you used to say it, sounded Like code for rounding up people and herding them onto buses and/or cars. Private addiction to some niche form of masturbation. These are the people who made their fortunes in the digital golden age that lasted 25 years because they were a ruthless semi-madman with a vision, some seed money, and a laptop; and most importantly those who knew how to monetize such things .
Think of how much money can be made here, not just from TV rights and advertising, but from actual drugs, as-yet-dreamed-of high-performance juices, all marketed through live lab performances. Four million Americans already take PEDs (performance-enhancing drugs), but that’s not a lot when you think about it. These revenues are untapped and the market is open.
That’s the thing about enhancement. This may be grotesque, a way of completely misunderstanding what sport is about, replacing things like narrative, emotional connection, human failure, and human success with the most intensely literal, results-based version of sport. Reimagined by a particularly dull person. Robots, movement as erotica of human performance.
But it also just feels like it’s going to happen, in part because there’s enough really honest conversations about where this stuff is going, about the old stigma that young people have about substances (which, basically, they don’t seem to care about) thick The old heritage of skin is the culture of the game itself.
And because what seemed absurd is now a reality. You will begin reading this article in a state of confusion and disbelief. A few hundred words in, it actually doesn’t feel ridiculous at all, like one of those things that just happened, the logical next step.
Big Sport opened the door for this disruptive new player, with its familiar script of false morality and greed, almost completely delegitimized in the public eye. So why not succumb to its false beliefs, its glorious nihilism Beginning in Bahrain 2028, some incredible Azerbaijanis crossed the finish line with a hemorrhage, erasing the 800m semi-mutant world record while We all spoke approvingly of his dignity, his journey, his empowerment.
