Baghdad/ Nina / Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, congratulated the members of the Christian component on the occasion of Christmas and New Year.
The media office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives stated, in a statement, that “Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, sent a telegram of congratulations to the Christian sisters and brothers from our honorable people in Mesopotamia and the Kurdistan region of Iraq on the birth of our Lord Christ (peace be upon him). The Deputy Speaker of Parliament affirmed: “The House of Representatives, in its current session, is keen to approve laws and legislation that will protect the rights of all components of the people,” stressing the necessity of consolidating the principles of human rights, spreading the concepts of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and higher values, and supporting the state’s efforts and endeavors aimed at enhancing stability and providing services.
