Baghdad / Nina/ The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, met in the Council building, today, Sunday, with a group of lawyers and jurists from various Iraqi governorates, to learn about their problems and needs, and to exchange proposals on relevant laws.
Al-Mandalawi confirmed, according to a statement from his office: “The House of Representatives is determined during its current session to legislate the Law on the Legal Profession, as the proposal to amend the Law on the Legal Profession No. (173) of 1965 was put on the agenda of the last sessions, and it was first read, while he directed the participation of the Bar Association and Jurists.” In the meetings of the Legal Committee to present their comments and ideas in a way that contributes to the maturity of the law and meets the purpose of its legislation.
During the meeting, they listened to the problems facing the segment of lawyers and jurists, highlighted their needs, especially at the legislative level, and stressed the importance of this segment in society and its closeness to the work of the Council, and the necessity of working to do justice to it and overcome the difficulties it encounters./End 9
