Real Madrid’s Brazilian international star Vinicius Junior has apologized to his country’s fans for the “Seleção”‘s exit from the Copa America currently being held in the United States.
Brazil bid farewell to the tournament in the quarter-finals after losing to Uruguay on penalties (4-2), noting that Vinicius missed this decisive match due to his suspension for accumulating yellow cards.
Vinicius wrote in a message he posted on his Instagram account: “The Copa America is over, it’s time to reflect and learn how to deal with defeat. The feeling of frustration has returned again, again with penalties!”
He added: “I watched the elimination from outside the stadium again, I failed by getting two yellow cards, but this time it was my fault, I apologize for that. I know how to listen to criticism, and the harshest criticism comes from inside.”
He concluded: “Fortunately, my journey with the national team has just begun. Along with my colleagues, we will have the opportunity to return our national team to the position it deserves. We will return to the top. I love you. Let’s go together.”
