Economist Manar Al-Obaidi said in a statement: “This increase is a result of the increase in the value of the United States’ exports of aircraft, aircraft parts, and their spare materials, as the value of the United States’ exports to Iraq of these goods amounted to 815 million dollars, compared to 47 million dollars in 2022.” Million dollars”.
He added, “The value of US exports of cars, their parts, and spare materials also increased to reach $361 million, compared to $117 million in 2022.”
Al-Obaidi continued, “The United States of America’s exports of mechanical equipment, electrical power plants, their accessories, and their spare materials also increased to reach a value of $266 million, after it was only $195 million in 2022.”
He pointed out that “the United States of America’s exports of wheat grains have increased to reach a value of $248 million in 2023 after it was worth $110 million in 2022,” noting that “the value of meat exported to Iraq has increased to reach a value of $39 million after its value two years ago was $10.7 million.” dollar”.
The economic expert pointed out, “The value of Iraq’s exports to the United States of America decreased, reaching a value last year of 8.5 billion dollars, while the value of Iraq’s exports to the United States of America in 2022 was worth 10 billion dollars. This decrease came as a result of the decline in oil prices in 2023 compared to 2022.”
Al-Obaidi stressed, “Despite the increase in American exports to Iraq, the value of trade exchange between Iraq and the United States of America in 2023 decreased from 2022 as a result of the decline in oil prices, bringing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries to a value of 10.7 billion dollars, after it was worth 10.9 billion dollars in 2022.” “.
It is noteworthy that the highest value of the volume of trade exchange between the United States of America and Iraq was in 2008, when the value of trade exchange between the two countries at that time was 24 billion dollars, and the volume of exchange decreased with the decline in the quantities of oil exported to the United States of America.
