Armenian Interior Ministry spokesman Narek Sargsyan announced that a foreign citizen opened fire last night at a police station in the Kotayk region of central Armenia.
He said: “A foreign citizen was summoned to the Kotayk Police Department, and while he was at the police headquarters, he grabbed a security officer’s gun and opened fire, injuring him and two police officers.”
He pointed out that the Internal Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Interior has begun investigating the circumstances of the incident.
The spokesman did not reveal the nationality of the attacker, but Sputnik Armenia confirmed that he was an Iraqi citizen.
