Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of two accused of robbing a banking company west of the capital, Baghdad.
Ministry spokesman Brigadier General Miqdad Miri said, in a statement received by Al-Rasheed, that “Baghdad Crime Control recorded an incident of theft of one of the banking companies located within the Al-Khadra neighborhood area, through an armed gang storming the company and stealing a sum of money from multiple foreign workers worth (200).” One million Iraqi dinars.”
He added, “After the owner and worker of the company were tied up by two defendants and fled into the alleys in a number of residential areas, the Baghdad Crime Control Directorate began forming a specialized team that, after collecting information, was able to arrest one of the defendants who admitted to committing the theft in collaboration with… Another accused fled to Wasit Governorate.”
He continued, “A force went to the place where the second accused was hiding, arrested him, and seized the weapon used, the stolen money, and everything related to the crime,” indicating that “the necessary legal measures were taken against them so that they receive their just punishment.”
